The study behind the BRSMS innovation.
The Challenge: This study addresses the operational challenges encountered by barangays in managing shared resources. Manual record-keeping, fragmented coordination, and a lack of real-time inventory visibility often result in delays, inaccurate records, and inefficient resource allocation during critical times.
The Solution: The primary objective was to digitize inventory management, borrowing processes, and inter-barangay coordination. Developed using the Waterfall methodology, the proposed solution is a web-based system (PHP, MySQL) accessible on both desktop and mobile. Key features include centralized inventory tracking, automated approval workflows, QR code scanning, and role-based access control with two-factor authentication.
The Results: Functional testing verified that all system modules operated correctly. Usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded an excellent rating, indicating high user acceptance. The results demonstrate improved record accuracy, faster processing of resource requests, and reliable inter-barangay coordination.
